iOne’s Journey in Powering COMELEC’s NLE 2025

Connecting the Nation, One Transmission at a Time

The road was rough, the sea was restless, and the signal bars were empty. Yet for the iOne SETS Delivery Team, this was exactly where they needed to be.

So, In a far-flung barangay where mountains meet the clouds and the roads disappear into mud and stone, the team unloaded a silver dish — a Starlink terminal, the size of hope itself.

They weren’t just bringing internet.
They were bringing connection — for democracy, for fairness, for every Filipino vote that deserved to be counted.

The Mission: Connect Every Precinct, No Matter How Far

As the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) prepares for the National and Local Elections (NLE) 2025, one challenge looms larger than the rest: how to connect every polling precinct, even those in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

COMELEC turned to a new kind of solution — Starlink satellite technology, capable of bringing internet to places beyond the reach of towers and cables.

And to make it happen, they turned to iOne Resources, a team that knows how to bring connectivity to the last mile.

The Innovation: Starlink + LTE Redundancy

Each Starlink kit that iOne delivered carried more than just high-speed internet — it came with a special router system built for its reliability.

This smart equipment automatically switches to LTE backup whenever satellite signals weaken due to weather or terrain.

It’s not just hardware. It’s assurance — that in the critical hours of election night, no precinct will fall silent.

“Every site we connect is one less vote left behind,” said a SETS technician while mounting a router on a barangay hall roof in Northern Mindanao.

The Journey: Crossing Seas, Climbing Heights

The SETS trucks and bike  roar in muddy roads, small ferries braved island channels, and some engineers hiked mountain paths with the equipment on their backs.

At every destination, COMELEC staff and LGU partners awaited eagerly.
When the router lights turned green, cheers echoed — a sign that another community had joined the connected nation.

Behind the Signal: The Unsung Teams

While the SETS field team battles the terrain, another group stands guard — the Server Monitoring and Communications Team.

Inside iOne’s command center, large screens glow with live data from Starlink terminals across the country.

Engineers monitor bandwidth, latency, uptime, and LTE failover triggers in real time — ensuring every site remains online, every transmission stable.

Whenever a signal drops, a notification pings, and within seconds, the communications desk coordinates with field teams.

Logistics dispatch riders, pick-up, boat crews, and provincial techs move like clockwork — proof that connection isn’t just made of signals, but of people working in sync.

“Hindi lang kami nakabantay sa signal — nakabantay kami sa tiwala ng mga tao,” shared one of the monitoring engineers during a night shift.

A Connected Future Awaits

When the last Starlink kit was powered on, a quiet moment of pride filled the room — both in the field and at the monitoring center.

Somewhere far away, another polling center came online.
Another connection established.
Another voice empowered.

The journey continues — island to island, barangay to barangay — as iOne’s  Communications, Server Monitoring, and Logistics Teams work hand in hand to ensure that in the 2025 elections, no Filipino is left offline, and no vote is left unheard.

Technology in Service of Democracy

For iOne, this mission is about more than technology — it’s about democracy in motion.

By combining Starlink’s satellite internet, LTE redundancy, and 24/7 network monitoring, iOne ensures that even the most remote polling sites can transmit votes securely and on time.
Each link established is a step toward transparency, inclusion, and trust.

Excellence by Standard, Purpose by Heart

Upholding quality and information security, iOne’s teams maintain ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 standards across all processes, from logistics and installation to monitoring and reporting.

Each Starlink terminal setup, every verified signal, and each successful transmission demonstrates iOne’s dedication to connecting every Filipino, wherever they may be. This effort goes beyond technology; it embodies trust, democracy, and nation-building.

Ultimately, beyond it lies a collective belief that every Filipino vote deserves to be counted, and every community deserves to be connected..

Reflecting on the mission, iOne CEO Alberto Catangui shared:

“Behind every signal light, every Starlink terminal, and every successful transmission is the hard work of Filipinos who believe in service and integrity.
This mission is about more than technology — it’s about connecting the nation, one community at a time.

Under his leadership, iOne Resources, Inc. continues to push boundaries — transforming challenges into connections, and connections into trust — We are bridging distances — ensuring that on election day and beyond, no Filipino voice goes unheard.
